Global Governance Group

Privacy Policy

How Global Governance Group collects, uses and protects your personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Effective 1 October 2026

Who we are

Global Governance Group ("GGG", "we", "us") is a governance, risk, compliance, safety and training firm based in Sydney, New South Wales, and an authorised PECB training partner. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

It applies to this website, to enquiries and orders placed through it, and to the training, advisory and diagnostic services we provide.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you and deliver what you order: your name, email address, phone number, country, organisation, job title where you give it, billing address, the courses and products you select, learner names for group enrolments, and anything you write in a message.

We do not collect or store payment card details. Card and PayPal payments are entered on PayPal’s own secure pages, and PayPal tells us only that a payment was made, the amount, and the payer’s name and email.

When you browse, our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time) for security. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you accept them (see our Cookie Policy).

Why we use it

We use your information to answer enquiries, process orders and enrolment requests, confirm fees, issue invoices and receipts, enrol learners with PECB, schedule exams, sessions and diagnostics, provide support, keep business and tax records, and meet our legal obligations.

We use it for marketing only if you tick the box asking for GGG insights and course news. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribe requests within five business days, as the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) requires. We do not sell or rent personal information.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with those who need it to deliver your order or run our business: PECB, which provides the eLearning platform, exams and certification; PayPal, which processes payments; our website host and email provider; and, where used, our customer relationship management system. Each is bound by its own privacy obligations.

We also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights in a dispute.

Overseas disclosure

Some of these providers hold data outside Australia. PECB is based in Canada, and enrolment details go to PECB to create your learner account and certification record. PayPal and our email and hosting providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Before disclosing information overseas we take reasonable steps, as APP 8 requires, to make sure the recipient protects it consistently with the APPs.

If you are in the European Union, South Africa or another country with its own data protection law, we will honour the rights that law gives you when you contact us.

Security and retention

Forms on this site are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. We limit access to personal information to the people who need it, and we keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, including seven years for financial and tax records. After that we securely delete or de-identify it.

If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Access, correction and anonymity

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, by emailing operations@governancegroup.org. We respond within 30 days and do not charge for the request. You may deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym for general questions, but we need your real details to enrol you, take payment or issue a certificate.

Complaints

If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, email operations@governancegroup.org and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
